Scandal in Germany as Politician Caught Falsely Claiming 95% of New Covid Cases Were Unvaxxed

Hamburg mayor Peter Tschentscher spread patently false information on November 16 maintaining that 90 percent of the infected people in the Hanseatic city were "unvaccinated". With this lie, the mayor justified his draconian Corona policy.

HAMBURG

The distrust and attention of an FDP member of the Hamburg parliament led to uncovering the first citizen’s blatant dishonesty.

Tschentscher’s untruthful statements that 90 percent of the infected people in Hamburg were not vaccinated, allowed the leftwing red-green Senate in Hamburg to become the first federal state in Germany to introduce the economically destructive and socially repressive 2G system. In addition, Tschentscher publicly called for the successful 2G expansion to include the entire Federal Republic.

The FDP member of parliament Anna-Elisabeth von Treuenfels-Frowein however questioned the veracity of Tschentscher’s statements. In response to her parliamentary enquiry, the MP received Drucksache 22/6678. This not only revealed the mayor’s lies but also that the vaccination status of the infected had decreased considerably since the end of August.

In calendar week 35, it showed that 68.3 percent of hospitalizations were of unvaccinated people, but more recently it had plummeted to 9.5 percent. In addition, all cases with an unknown vaccination status had simply been added to the unvaccinated group to inflate their numbers.

In a nationwide press conference on November 16, 2021, Tschentscher held up a “very clear” graphic to the media from calendar week 45, maintaining that 90 percent of the cases of infected people were unvaccinated. In fact, the vaccination status had been unknown in 63.2 percent of the cases.

Moreover, 22.5 percent were noted as vaccinated and 14.3 percent were confirmed as unvaccinated. With the actual data, a 2G rule thus makes no sense.

In a question to the Senate, German newspaper Die Welt wanted to know how the 14.3 became 90 percent. In his answer, the spokesman for the Senate replied in mindless bureaucratese: “At the state press conference, the Corona situation will be presented on the basis of the Corona briefing, which is compiled weekly by the competent authority and published as a press release.”

Treuenfels-Frowein told the newspaper that she was appalled by the answer: “I consider this approach to be irresponsible. Anyone who, among other things, interferes with fundamental rights on the basis of incorrect numbers should not be surprised if their acceptance among Hamburgers is rapidly declining. I would go one step further: Anyone who does this is legally responsible.”
