AstraZeneca used ‘outdated and potentially misleading data’ that overstated the effectiveness of its vaccine, independent panel says.
When we look at AstraZeneca's previous history, the company has been embroiled in numerous controversies over illegal marketing, product safety, anticompetitive behavior and tax avoidance, resulting in payouts of more than $1 billion in federal fines and legal settlements. It has also had to deal with several lawsuits filed by patients who say the drugmaker’s products injured them.
